Hosted by Eleni Papadopoulos
Learn to make spanakopita, tiropita, and baklava from scratch in a three-hour class inside a working Astoria bakery. Eleni's family has been making these recipes since her grandmother brought them from Thessaloniki.
Eleni's family has run a Greek pastry shop in Astoria for forty years. Booking a class directly funds the shop's operating costs as foot traffic declines. What's included
- All ingredients and equipment
- Greek coffee throughout
- The pastries you bake to take home
Plan
An apron. Everything else (ingredients, equipment, and coffee) is provided.
Classes capped at eight. Advance booking only, no walk-ins.
Class fees cover operating costs for the family bakery and fund Eleni's recipe-translation project, converting forty years of handwritten Greek recipes into a bilingual cookbook.

Eleni's phyllo technique is generations deep. My baklava actually held together at home.

Felt like baking in my yiayia's kitchen. The bakery itself is a piece of Astoria history.
