Learn

Hosted by Gloria Espinosa

Spend an afternoon working alongside the people who've kept this Lower East Side garden alive since the 1980s. You'll weed, plant, and harvest depending on the season. Gloria will walk you through how the garden feeds local families and how the land trust protects it.

Your afternoon's work helps a volunteer-run garden hold its plot against development pressure and keep growing free produce for the block.

What's included

  • Gloves and all garden tools
  • Guidance from the lead gardeners

Honest work and good people. I came alone and left knowing half the block.
