Hosted by Avi Rosen
These blocks have stood in for a century of movies, from gritty seventies dramas to films shot last year. We match real stills to the exact corners they were filmed on, and I'll explain why directors keep coming back to these streets. Along the way you'll learn to frame a location shot and find angles that hide the modern clutter.
A share of each booking goes to a neighborhood fund that helps long-running LES family shops keep their storefronts. What's included
- A binder of matched film stills
- Framing tips for street photography
- A printed map of every stop
- A list of nearby cafes to end the walk
Plan
A camera or phone and comfortable shoes, since we cover about a mile at an easy pace.
We photograph public streets and respect that people live and work here, so no shooting into windows or doorways. We move on if a shop asks us to.
Part of your ticket supports a small grant fund for family-owned LES businesses facing rent hikes.

Avi knows these streets cold. Lining up the old stills with the real corners was the best part.

Really interesting and well paced. A couple of stops were under scaffolding, which is just the city for you.
